PART ONE: This is a hands-on lab scope class that covers signal acquisition, basic lab scope testing procedures, basic set-up of your scope’s channels, triggering, time bases (Sweep speeds), pattern analysis and different applications for lab scope electrical and mechanical testing in various automotive systems. Learn how to measure and understand frequency, duty cycle and pulse width modulated circuits.

NOTE! Bring Your Own Lab Scope both nights. We will have a function generator in the classroom and students will plug into LIVE signals to learn how to dial in waveforms on their scopes during the class! Don’t forget leads and chargers!

Night TWO: Night 2: We hook up on live cars and pull signal sets to confirm the training from the previous night. We will also look at pressure diagnostics in today’s more complex GDI cars with no start and intermittent diagnostic scenarios. Learn how to “see” valve problems (Mechanical), Vacuum/Back Pressure, VVT issues without engine disassembly and more!

Learn how to truly use and maximize your scope, it will be CRITICAL to your future diagnostic success to be able to really understand and apply your scope to diagnose fix cars effectively!
